Description

Silver Sentimenti was born in Imola, Italy in 1970. He has been interested in art since childhood and took oil painting lessons from local painters at a very early age. In 1989 he obtained a diploma in ceramic sculpture at the School of Applied Arts at the Istituto Gaetano Ballardini in Faenza (Italy). In 1994 he obtained a diploma in scenography at the School of Fine Arts in Bologna. His training as a visual artist and scenographer led him to the practice of sewing and costume design for the cinema and the performing arts.
In France, where he has been living and working since 1997, he has collaborated for many years with Haute Couture houses and costume designers. Very attached to plastic arts and crafts, his current work focuses on the expression of a synthesis between the different disciplines that have marked his artistic and professional career.
Since 2014, his personal research is again focused on ceramic creation through the practice of turning and sculpture. Through the gestures of these different practices, he explores the link between matter and volume, in a plastic research linking the ennoblement of textile treatments such as embroidery and weaving to the earth.
