Philippe Starck was born in 1949 in Paris. He is the “enfant terrible” of the design universe. He is one of the most non-conformist, innovating, productive and interesting contemporary architects and designers. He studied at the Nissim de Camondo School in Paris. Starck founded in 1968 his own company (ofinflatable objects!). It was in 1985 that he made himself known by planning the indoor furnishing of the Café Costes in Paris. Since then, he signed contracts all over the world. His creation range consists in furniture, lighting and objects of all kinds – from computer to toothbrush and many other kind of tools. Whether it is kitchen utensils for Alessi, office furniture for Vitra, luggage for Vuitton, the great “Design Popstar” knows perfectly how to best sell his products (as well as himself).
