Born from the underground scene, Aurèle Richard, also called “Aurèle LostDog” is a French autodidact plastic artist. He lives and works in New York where he finds his source of inspiration. His famous “lost dog” is a perfect example. When wandering through the city, he came upon a missing dog poster. Aurèle lately said: “There was everything from our lives on this poster: money, material or spiritual quest, emotion, willpower, choice, desire and above all loss. This lost dog was likewise mankind, lost in the confusion of the modern world”. A great part of his work comes from this period and more recently in 2010 in Shanghai, his “yellow lost dog”, of 80 meter high, was installed for the universal exposition. It is the first zoomorphic tower.
