Description

On June 5, 1944, under the orders of Major Bourgoin, paratroopers of the "Special Air Service" commandos were dropped in occupied Brittany. Their mission was to carry out sabotage actions in order to delay the progression of German reinforcements towards Normandy. They joined forces with the local Resistance, and the village of Saint-Marcel in Morbihan was the scene of fierce fighting.
