Nanbu Tekki: quality and tradition This cast iron teapot was made in Morioka, Japan by the family business Iwachu. If you are a tea lover, this is a beautiful and practical object that will seduce you. It is manufactured under Japan's strict food quality controls so you can use it with confidence (see the Public Health Certificate). It is certainly one of the best teapots on the market. A decoration inspired by nature The surface of this teapot is decorated with the famous Japanese Seigaiha wave pattern. Traces of this traditional representation of the sea can be found as early as the 6th century. It is a symbol of tranquility and good luck. Each Iwachu teapot is made through a handcrafted process of over 60 steps, including: - The inner and outer molds are made by hand. - Liquid iron is poured into the mold. - When it is cold, the mold is broken to extract the teapot. - All edges are filed down. - The inner part is glazed. - The outer surface is painted. - Once the paint is dry, the teapot is carefully packed.
