, To the ends of the earth, missionary views , : missionary views evokes one of the episodes in the constitution of the collections of the Musée des Confluences,
with the deposit of the Œuvres Pontificales Missionnaires.
The exhibition presents objects brought back from all over the world, associating them with the lives of the missionaries who collected them. It goes so far as to question the role of the museum: to document and study the collections, to exhibit them, in order to better put human history into perspective.
This review accompanies the exhibition Jusqu'au bout du monde, regards missionnaires , presented at the Musée des Confluences from 18 June 2021 to 8 May 2022.
