Description

The Paris Opera Ceiling - Palais Garnier, 1964
Marc Chagall (1887 - 1985).

It was in 1963 that André Malraux, then Minister of Culture, asked Marc Chagall to paint the ceiling of the Opera. After just hesitation; this one accepts and launches into the immense work which represents a work of 220m2, where the subjects must occupy the space while bonding with harmony.
To do this, Chagall decides to pay tribute to 14 legendary composers, with a palette of 5 colors that wonderfully echo the movements orchestrated by the pictorial universe of Chagall associated with music, ballet and song.
