The conception of Ottmar Hörl’s work for the public space goes beyond what we could call “art” when associated to museums and enclosed in a specific location. Here, art is accessible to all. A kind of art that we can touch, with which we can evolve. The first concern of Ottmar Hörl is to offer daily products that progressively turn into art objects because of their conception, their impact and their vocation. This is exactly where the art of Ottmar Hörl lies: the way he extracts things from daily life in order to implement them later in a slightly changed form. One familiar object transposed in monochrome multiples. The artist has been exhibited since 1978 in European capitals, in fairs and festivals of contemporary art. He is supported by numerous galleries and especially in Germany, his native country.
