Description

While From Hieroglyphic Writings to Isotype was written between 1943 and 1945, this edition presents the first-ever publication of the text in its complete version and appeared from Hyphen Press in 2010. The original manuscript was carefully edited, based on seventeen files of handwritten and typed drafts left by the author, by Matthew Eve and Christopher Burke, both associated with the "Isotype revisited" research project at the University of Reading's Department of Typography and Graphic Communication. The Transformer, published in 2013 by B42 , addressed Otto Neurath's work through a text by his collaborator Marie Neurath, and an illuminating analysis by Robin Kinross. From Hieroglyphic Writings to Isotype represents an extension of this.
