Description

The creativity of the primitives reached its peak on the religious level. This is enough to assure them a place in universal history. But for this, we must make the effort to understand these religious manifestations correctly (Mircea Eliade). Famous historian of religions, Mircea Eliade (1907-1986) taught after the Second World War at the École Pratique des Hautes Études in Paris, then, from 1957, at the University of Chicago.
His work is immense. It includes, among others, "Le Chamanisme et les techniques archaïques de l'extase", "Histoire des croyances et des idées religieuses", "Traité d'histoire des religions", and "Le Yoga".
