Description

Since the 1980s, the designer Philippe Starck (born in 1949) has been transforming Paris, his home base. The city is home to many of his creations: the Costes café, the Parc de la Villette, the History of Paris panels, the photobooths, the Mama Shelter...
The exhibition catalog compiles his explorations, his shifted visions and his concrete or imaginary reinterpretations of multiple places in the capital, whether they are historical, touristic or intimate.
The book invites the reader to an excursion in Paris with Philippe Starck as a guide. Using the imaginary and offbeat explanations of pataphysics, the science of imaginary solutions, the designer reveals the incongruous mysteries of the City of Light.
The book also proposes to shift the focus to the creative laboratory that the conception and preparation of an exhibition of this magnitude implies.
