Description
Gravé du Sud is based in the Bouches du Rhône region of France, and produces linocuts on the themes of southern cities such as Marseille, Aix en Provence and Nice. the linocut is a printmaking technique in which a sheet of linoleum is used for a relief surface. A design is cut into the linoleum surface with a gouge, with the raised (uncarved) areas representing a reversal (mirror image) of the parts to show printed. The linoleum sheet is inked with a roller (called a brayer), and then impressed onto paper or fabric. Every posters is unique as the technique is hand made, as well as the frame. One linocut takes 5 to 7 days to dry.Product information
