Description

A flesh-and-blood virus, if I may say so, proved that the virtual virus wasn't the only reality we had to contend with. From China, where pangolins and bats were incriminated, it brought the world to its knees. It revealed the follies of our times: the imperialism of the French state, the extreme weakness of its leader, the impotence of the Europe of Maastricht, the foolishness of philosophers who advocated letting old people die to save the economy, the cacophony of scientists, the volatilisation of expertise, the agglutination of the defenders of the system in hatred of Pr Raoult, the emergence of media medicine, the indigence of the journalistic world - nothing very new...

Covid-19 reminds us of an elementary lesson: it is not the return of repressed death, but the vitalist proof that life only exists through the death that makes it possible. But what tragic temperament can and still wants to hear this philosophical lesson?
