Charlotte Perriand (1903-1999), an architect and furniture designer who was a major figure in the history of modernism, devoted her life to the art of living. Although she shared the ideas of Le Corbusier, with whom she worked for a long time, she nevertheless developed her own vision, asserting her status as a designer in a world of designers.
