Description
Hand-patinated bronze reproduction. Mould made from an imprint of the original work. Although modeled under the Consulate, the bust of Napoleon after the model of Chaudet was adopted as the official portrait of the Emperor until 1810. It existed in two sizes: the first-size models were few in number and reserved for leading characters, while the second-size ones were the usual complement to the second-order presents. This second-size copy was made in 1808.
