EUROPA OXALÁ is an ambitious exhibition project made possible by the participation of second and third generation European artists who, for family or other reasons, have maintained a link with the African continent. Proposed by the Mucem (France), the Royal Museum for Central Africa - AfricaMuseum (Belgium), the Centre for Social Studies of the University of Coimbra and the Gulbenkian Foundation (France and Portugal), this project was born of the conviction that the work of these artists is the expression of a heterogeneous and cosmopolitan Europe and can help us understand the social and artistic transformations that are taking place.
