Description

Design pioneer Alvar Aalto's asymmetrical waves ("aalto" in Finnish) won the 1937 Paris World Fair. In the decades since, they've become an icon of Scandinavian interior design. Taking inspiration from the thousands of lakes in his native Finland, Aalto's waves combine function and sculpture. Each Aalto vase goes through a multi-step production process at the Iittala Glass Factory. First, the vase is mouthblown, then hand cut before going through several polishings. The clear decorative glass vase is a versatile, striking addition to any home interior. Perfect gift idea.
