Description

In contemporary Warlpiri paintings, traditional iconography is used to represent "Jukurrpa" (the dream). Short dashes are often used to represent "mangkurdu" (cumulus and stratocumulus). Longer, flowing lines represent the "ngawarra" (flood waters). Small circles are used to represent "mulju" (spills) and the riverbed on the LOQI recycled backpack. KIRSTEN NANGALA EGAN © Warlukurlangu Artists Aboriginal Corporation, 2022. Produces Aboriginal art, promotes Indigenous culture and has supported the remote community of Yuendumu since 1985.
