Originating from a collection gifted to Louis XV, now boasting 30,000 objects and works of art, the National Maritime Museum in Paris will reopen its doors on 17 November 2023 after five years of renovation work. The museum's bookshop and gift shop, like the institution itself, is a reference point for all things maritime. The range of products on offer reflects the museum's rich collections and temporary exhibitions, with a strong focus on discovery and education. Naval history and its key figures are highlighted. Sea lovers can rediscover 300 years of maritime adventures through the many books and exclusive products on offer in a place of inspiration, sharing and transmission of the history of the oceans. The bookshop has a wide range of works dedicated to the sea, navigation and maritime history. A natural extension of the museum, this boutique aims to raise awareness among a wide audience of the maritime issues of today and tomorrow. For young defenders of the sea, future navigators and budding oceanographers, the children's selection consists of educational and fun books and objects, particularly on environmental issues. In addition, the concept store innovates with a committed and local selection that questions new materials and alternative ways of consuming. It features an upcycling collection: objects made from materials collected and recycled at port sites. The National Maritime Museum has an ambitious environmental policy, and the shop's offerings reflect this eco-friendly commitment, favouring biodegradable or recyclable materials, short supply chains, and ‘Made in France’ products, with respect for people and the sea.

Find this bookshop-boutique at 17 Pl. du Trocadéro et du 11 Novembre, 75116 Paris (Metro L6, L9: Trocadéro).
