Description

Tokyo, December 1944. Hired at a postal sorting centre, Ren Mizuki meets two other students who share his passion for European culture and art: Yuki, who will become his partner, also a painter, and Bin, a violinist destined for an international career, who will remain his brother of choice forever. In 1945, Ren is called up to fight in the hell of battle in Manchuria. Disfigured and mutilated, he returns home convinced that he will never be able to hold a paintbrush again. Will Yuki's love be enough to change his destiny? Through this particularly moving story, Akira Mizubayashi continues to explore his familiar themes: the disaster of war-mongering nationalism, and art as an essential remedy for human folly.
