Since the beginning of the 21st century, urban agriculture has seen a resurgence of interest as part of a growing awareness of the ravages of increasing urbanisation and conventional agriculture. Through a long-term investigation in Greater Paris, New York and Detroit, Flaminia Paddeu explores the wastelands of working-class neighbourhoods, shared gardens in city centres and vegetable gardens under threat, questioning our relationship with the land in metropolitan areas.
