Description

Located at the entrance to the port of Marseille, within the Fort Saint-Jean, the Garden of Migrations offers a pathway to discover the history of Mediterranean vegetation and its uses. Built in 2013, it is part of the Mucem project and illustrates the intermingling of cultures, people and plants around the Mediterranean. Structured in two parts, this work combines, on the one hand, a beautiful book illustrated with numerous photographs that recounts the origins of the garden, its particularities and the methods of its maintenance and, on the other hand, a sketchbook presenting its fifteen islands of vegetation.
