Through his watercolor sketchbooks, Roger Boulay delicately documents Kanak works preserved far from their territory of origin, blending a scientific eye with artistic sensitivity.

These sketchbooks, donated by the author in 2019, have been incorporated into the collections of the Musée du quai Branly - Jacques Chirac within the holdings dedicated to historical and contemporary globalization. Blending memory, art, and transmission, this book offers a valuable insight into the history of the collections and the circulation of cultures.
