Description

Rabindranath Tagore's poems are prayers and dialogues with the divine. They celebrate life, despite the tragedies it brings, and magnify a world in constant flux of colour, sound and harmony. The accessibility of these verses and their spiritual significance place Tagore's work at the crossroads of lyric poetry and the great texts of Eastern wisdom. Born in 1861 and died in 1941, R. Tagore was an Indian writer who published novels and stories, essays and a great many poems. He was also a composer, playwright, actor, painter and philosopher. The universal influence of his work earned him the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913.
