George Barbier (born in Nantes on 16 October 1882 and died in Paris on 16 March 1932) was a French painter, fashion designer and illustrator. He also signed his work under the pseudonym Edward W. Larry. The influence of Greek vases, Indian miniatures, illustrator and engraver Aubrey Beardsley, and painter Léon Bakst had a profound effect on his precise and elegant style, typical of Art Deco.
