Description

"Virgula Divina" is the Latin term used to identify the Y-shaped dowsing rod, an indispensable tool for the dowser in his search for water or other hidden treasures. The art of dowsing or divination is the inspiration for the bottle opener designed by Frédéric Gooris, to which he refers both in the name and in the enigmatic shape of his concept. A perfect drawing transformed in a practical bottle opener: It has the ideal shape to grab the cap of the bottle, while the other endings are soft and natural, giving a comfortable grip. The compact size means you can carry the object with you wherever you go, making it suitable for both domestic and professional use. About the designer: Frédéric Gooris, Belgian industrial designer, born at Leuven in 1974, graduated from the Hogeschool Antwerpen in 1998. In 1999 he moves to Milan, where he obtains his Master in Design at Domus Academy. After gaining experience working for Philippe Starck and Stefano Giovannoni for 5 years, he founds Studio Gooris in Milan doing product and concept design for companies all over the globe, including Alessi, Ferrero, Target, Levis, JCPenny, Foreverlamp, Oras, EQ3, among others. In 2009 he cofounds Bombol, a company for design oriented baby furniture. In 2010 he moves to Hong Kong to open the second office of Studio gooris where he is working up to today.
