Max Ernst

Max Ernst is a German painter and sculptor, considered the precursor of surrealism. Born on April 2, 1891 in the city of Brühl in Germany, he was immersed in the artistic world from his earliest childhood, his father being a painter. At the age of 19, while studying philosophy at the University of Bonn, he abandons his studies before the end to devote himself to art. He joined an expressionist group and exhibited for the first time in Cologne in 1912, before leaving for Paris in 1913 after meeting Guillaume Apollinaire.
